Our Staff
Teachers are the most important part of a child's experience in preschool. Preschool is a time when children are first separated from their parents for an extended period. Saint Aidan's School is proud to have an experienced mature staff who provide the compassion and security to help children make the transition from home life to school life.
Kathy Cook has over thirty years of teaching experience. She has taught at Saint Aidan's School since it started in 1994, became co-director in 2000, and Director in 2006. Kathy also teaches in the garden. Previously she taught at the Mallinson School and was the director of the Malibu Community Center.
Amy has an MA from Cal State and a master teacher certificate. She has 7 years of teaching experience. We are fortunate to have Amy join us starting in 2009.
Hollie has been teaching preschool in Malibu for 13 years,
and at St. Aidan's since 2008. She has a BA in Fine Arts from Pepperdine and
a state teaching certificate.
Lolli began teaching in 1974 at the Carden Malibu School in Las Flores Canyon. She taught pre-school through 5th grade for 25 years there. She taught another 12 years of preschool at Garden of Childhood in Malibu. Lolli joined our staff in 2011 to bring the Carden Method to our Transitional Kindergarten program.
Teri has over 27 years experience working with young children and their families from infants and toddlers to six year olds. She has her advanced certificate in Early Childhood Education From U.C.L.A. and continues to attend many classes and workshops as there is always more to learn. She enjoys creating special environments, creative spaces and providing beautiful things for the entire school.
In addition to these primary full-time teaching staff, we have assistant teachers, Cayley, Jamie, Shaheen, and Rhyanne, and our office administrator, Barb Dijker. We also work closely with the Santa Monica - Malibu School District to ensure access to any needed special services.
Finally, the children also meet weekly with Rev. Joyce Stickney of St. Aidan's Episcopal Church.
